We will depart in the morning after breakfast on a trail to the northwest. Flat sections invite higher speeds and faster drive and after about 15 minutes, we will stop in a village, where we will find a mystical scene in a small forest – a large group of centuries-old monuments (tombstones) without markings, covered with moss, and carelessly scattered in a small area. We will continue downhill towards the Lepenica River where you will enjoy driving through the shallow River and enjoy its waterfalls.
Along the riverbank of Lepenica, we will enjoy hot coffee or tea and prepare for a very demanding section that is before us. For the next 15 or so kilometers, we will mainly drive on forest paths with few glades and enjoy sight and sound or mountain river Crna Rijeka (Black River). One of the most demanding sections is Medin Potok (Bears Creek), steep drive through mountain creek.
The drivers camp is in front of us with fresh prepared grilled trout. The sound of Crna Rijeka and shade invites for a quick nap in hammocks.
After strong coffee, we will prepare the vehicles for part of the route towards north-west. Moving further, the elevation will continue to rise and after 1,324 meters above sea level, our first stop will be mountain house on 3 lakes, in the middle of a forest from the Grimm’s fairytales. We will often find water springs where it is possible to refresh. We will leave the forest belt after the border height of 1,600 meters and there the spectacle called Bitovnja starts. The vast mountain pastures invite to faster drive and the scenery is breathtaking on all sides, it seems as if a man could see from one end of Bosnia to another.
After enjoying magnificent views, we will leave Bitovnja behind and start our descent towards equestrian center LazyHorse where our off-road adventure started.
Optionally, on our way back, we can offer visit to Tarcin Forest Resort which is famous for its wellness and spa center where tired off-roaders can spend late afternoon enjoying a full body massage, saunas and pools. (not included in the price).
Coming back to LazyHorse, we will summarize impressions and plan our next off-road adventure.
